At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential.
ChickTech is a national nonprofit dedicated to retaining womxn (female-identifying, non-binary and transgender women) in the technology workforce and increasing the number of womxn pursuing technology-based careers through signature programs for K-12 students and career level adults. The overarching goal of ChickTech is to increase diversity and inclusion within the technology culture through broadening the pipeline of underrepresented populations entering careers through non-traditional pathways, and increasing retention of these populations through a supportive community focused on enhancing career, leadership, inclusion, and engagement within and beyond the workplace. By building and enhancing an intergenerational community, ChickTech is ensuring companies can find untapped talent from diverse communities across the country while also building skills and interest for future generations to excel and create a diverse tech workforce.
We are looking for Social Media Committee Members for the local ChickTech chapter. Our ideal Committee Member candidate will have:
Experience with working with a team, program or event planning or relevant skills related to the selected committee
Experience with either nonprofits and/or the tech field
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent problem solving skills, ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Good strategic and tactical thinking
The ability to work in a collaborative style and move others to action by planning, motivating, and organizing work tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills that establish and maintain credibility and relationships
A drive to improve the experience of girls and women in technology
Key Committee Member responsibilities include:
Carry the vision for the chapter and inspire others to become a part of the ChickTech movement
Actively participating in committee meetings and the ability to complete assigned tasks within agreed timeframes
Collaborate with and support chapter leadership
Work with a team to support tasks and ensure they are run efficiently and effectively.
Ensure comprehensive documentation is created to help identify best practices, keep the program in line with the organization’s mission and philosophy, and ensure repeatability for future volunteers
The benefits: A chance to change many lives in your community. Networking directly with ChickTech’s leadership team. Extensive networking opportunities at a local level with a wide diversity of tech companies and other organizations.
Expected time commitment: 1-5 hours/week, but this may vary. We ask that all team members commit to one year of being on the team if possible, although less can be negotiated! Please be honest about your time commitments, while we realize it is difficult to forecast what you may be doing four or five months out, we ask potential team members to try their best to upfront with any conflicts, either work or personal. Thank you for your understanding!
