THRIFT STORE CLERK/SORTER/STOCKER

Will learn the following tasks:

CASHIER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enter transactions into Excel Cash Register
• Handle cash, and check transactions with customers

• Collect payments
• Ensure pricing is correct
• Issue correct change
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the establishment
• Maintain clean and tidy store and checkout areas
• Answer customers' questions and get a manager if the answer doesn't solve the issue
• Bag or box packages
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction

SORTER RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives, sorts, and prepares merchandise for display and sales in the store; determines the suitability of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with pricing and tagging items in the store in accordance with established procedures. Assist customers in carrying purchased items out of the store.
