Soldiers’ Angels, in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, provides a monthly Mobile Food Distribution (MFD) event to supplement and assist our low-income, at-risk, and homeless Veterans and their families. We typically provide 250-300 families with up to 75 lbs of food each, including meat and produce.
The MFD take place from 9:00 am to approximately 3:00 pm.
As a Mobile Food Distribution Volunteer, you may be asked to do the following tasks:
Organize MFD supplies the day prior to the event
Set-up and tear down
Unload storage areas
Set up tables
Set up canopies
Pack food bags
Break down trash/boxes
Direct traffic
Check Veterans in/out
Bending, lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs
As a Volunteer, please remember to wear the proper protective gear based on the weather - this is an OUTDOOR event.
Hat, sunglasses, gloves
Sunscreen/block
Bug repellent
Closed-toe shoes
Rain gear (as necessary)
Loose, comfortable clothing (something to easily move in)
