NYSoM (New York State of Mind) is a multiservice community organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families living in the communities we serve. We aim to further our mission through:

Community Events - we host a multitude of events, often educational or recreational in nature, throughout the year with the hopes of offering residents in our target communities a positive alternative to their normal surroundings.

Community Outreach Programs - we offer a number of programs directly to sectors of our target communities including senior citizens, children, young adults & the homeless.

We are seeking a Volunteer Events Manager to assist in the preparation and planning of our outreach programs and community events. The responsibilities of this include:

• Create plans of actions in preparation and planning for NYSoM sponsored events.
• Create activities specific to each events theme and location.
• Assist in managing event set-up, tear-down, and follow-up processes.
• Cooperating with our Community Manager to pipeline volunteering needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must be available on most Saturdays to manage events.
• Must be located within the NYC Area.
• Experience within, Event Management, Hospitality, or Public Relations Preferred.
• Good communication skills, organizational skills, and teamwork ability Required.
