As part of our Internship Program, we are looking for Associate Program Officers to join our Project Management Team, together carrying out projects in the aforementioned thematic areas. This position reports to the Program Officer of the HHI Switzerland Branch under the supervision of both the Program Officer and the President, working in collaboration with the HHI Switzerland Global Partnerships Team and Social Media Team. Through this internship program, you will have an invaluable opportunity to work alongside with global youth leaders and professional experts coming from reputable organizations and institutions across fields, such as the United Nations, to learn more about youth empowerment for the SDGs, and make your contributions in creating a bright future. It is a powerful platform to enhance your skills, build professional networks, and let your talents and ideas shine.

Position : Internship - Associate Program Officer

Location : Geneva; remote work possible

Duration : 6 months; part-time

Payment : Unpaid

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Management Team in program design, implementation, and coordination on aforementioned thematic areas, with creative space to propose additional issues which HHI Switzerland should engage in.
  • Assist in thematic research, reports writing, and analysis of programmatic activities.
  • Substantive inputs to the organization of events, especially online webinars.
  • Working in collaboration with other HHI branches in joint projects.
  • Support to budget management as needed.
  • Assistance with recruitment as needed.
  • Other functions in support of the team as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional understanding of and interest in youth empowerment, human rights, humanitarian, sociopolitical, and SDGs-related issues, especially in Switzerland (Geneva).
  • Experience in program management and related functional areas, ideally at international level, with experience in NGO is a plus.
  • Experience working with high-profile professionals, including government officials and international organizational leaders preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • English language proficiency required; proficiency in other languages are plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Google Suite.

Description

As a member of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY),
Helping Hand International was first established in 2016 in India, and works on youth
empowerment, capacity building, awareness advocacy, social activism, humanitarian
engagements, and global partnerships for the SDGs. The Switzerland Branch was
founded in November 2020, working under this main vision with specific focus on:
equity (especially gender and race), access to policy making and justice, human
rights, civil participation, health awareness (especially COVID-19), income
generation, education, environmental protection, promoting the mentality of peace,
and cultivating a next generation of righteous leaders. Through local efforts and
collaboration with global partners and other HHI branches, HHI Switzerland
contributes to rights protection, shared prosperity, and sustainable development via
people-centered and result-focused initiatives.
