Little Tokyo Service Center, a Community Development Corporation

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 20 people are interested

To pass along goodwill to our community, Little Tokyo Service Center will work in partnership with Navidad en el Barrio to distribute food gift baskets this holiday season to families in our preschool and childcare programs, families living in our affordable housing communities and survivors of domestic violence. Navidad en el Barrio prepares a site for us to pick up food, we identify the families in need of the baskets, set up a day for distribution, assemble the baskets and distribute the baskets before the holidays. We will be distributing 150 food baskets this year. This in an increase from previous years, due to Covid-19.

The food will be dropped off to Angelina Apartments Friday 12/11/2020 in the afternoon. We will need help sorting the food and placing them in reusable grocery bags for the families. The actual event for the families is Saturday 12/12/2020. We will need help before/during/after to make this event extra special for our families.

Little Tokyo Service Center (Tax ID 95-4444-102) is there for people who need help the most in our communities. Worsening economic inequality has hurt many families in Los Angeles. We offer a safety net of supportive service to help families fill the gap with preschool, tutoring, and affordable housing. Providing additional food during the holiday season is an additional way we support families and make the holiday brighter.

Thank you for your consideration to be a volunteer! If you have any questions, please contact me at NLopez@LTSC.org or (213) 473-1699. Thank you for helping us to support our families.
