Up to 40% of food feeds landfills while thousands of individuals are hungry and food insecure in the SouthCoast area of Massachusetts. That’s where Rescuing Leftover Cuisine steps in. Volunteer as a FOOD RESCUER to rescue surplus food from businesses and deliver it to nonprofits that serve the underserved:

- Click the avatar to go to your dashboard.
- Under "Welcome Aboard," click the links to the online Orientation (takes about 20 minutes to complete).
- Upon completion of your orientation, your Rescuer Account is automatically activated (you will receive an email confirmation).
- Sign up for your first Rescue Event
FEED PEOPLE, NOT LANDFILLS.
- All Ages encouraged!
- No minimum time commitment is required: volunteer one-time, sporadically or on a recurring basis.
- Daily volunteering opportunities to choose from morning, afternoon and night throughout Rhode Island; and the Northeastern, MetroWest and SouthCoast areas of Massachusetts.
- FulfillCommunity Service Hours: Documentation for proof of volunteering is available upon request.
- Safety guidelines are in place to ensure zero person-to-person contact.
- Go solo or as a team of family members, friends, co-workers, etc.
- Rescue via 2 feet, 2 wheels, 4 wheels, or MBTA Subway.
- A typical Rescue Event averages less than one hour of volunteering time.
- Food Donor Partners include restaurants, hotels, schools, caterers, corporate businesses and others.
- Nonprofit Partners include shelters, soup kitchens and others.

The mission of RLC is to redistribute excess food to feed people experiencing food insecurity.
Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit food rescue organization. RLC uses a custom web application to crowdsource community members as "Rescuers" to transport excess food from food donor partners to nonprofit recipients, feeding people instead of landfills.
