Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a non-profit organization that provides a platform for volunteers to recover excess fresh and prepared food from businesses and transport it to local human service agencies who serve those in need.
Each rescue averages 40 pounds of food, provides 32 meals...and takes 45 minutes of time! As of February 2020: About 275K pounds of recovered excess food provided about 220K meals for those in need throughout MA and prevented about 103K pounds of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere since 2017, thanks to the collaboration of our food donors, volunteers and recipients! For kind kids under 16, an adult must be present, making this a gratifying family effort. Proof of volunteering activities for school credit or resume use is always available upon request.
