Spring + Summer Positions Available - See Instructions to apply below! Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) a 501(c)3 nonprofit food rescue organization. We eliminate unnecessary waste of perfectly good surplus food by picking it up from businesses to redistribute it to our nonprofit partners that serve people suffering from hunger and food insecurity. RLC's Massachusetts branch relies 95% on our network of dedicated "Rescuers" who sign up to volunteer on a sporadic or recurring basis to rescue and deliver food donations. The purpose of our Paid Rescuer Position is to complement our volunteer platform, enhance reliability, and increase our impact -- while giving Rescuers the opportunity to cover necessary transportation expenses while earning extra income for your good deeds. Areas of Coverage: Current Paid Rescuer opportunities are in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Chestnut Hill, East Boston, Chelsea, Milton, Newton, Natick and surrounding areas. Compensation: $10 per Rescue Event (pick up food at one business > deliver it to one nonprofit) $5 per each additional stop (i.e. $15 for two pickups to one nonprofit) Tip: it's most efficient to cover multiple Events back-to-back on the same day. Responsibilities: Paid Rescuer must follow RLC's Covid Safety Guidelines (wear a mask, keep 6 feet distance) Minimum Requirement: 5 or more Rescue Events per week for 4 or more weeks (each Rescue Event averages 4 miles distance between the donor and recipient and takes less than one hour from start to finish).
