The Connected Chef's Lifeline Grocery Delivery is looking for English, Spanish, Bengla and Arabic speaking volunteers to assist in texting and calling families in need to verify their contact and delivery information. This is a remote position that requires access to the internet and mobile phone. Each volunteer is tasked with texting assigned families (sometimes with follow up phone calls) and updating our family spreadsheet with information received during each exchange. Each exchange takes about 3-5 minutes and utilizes our Google Voice account, not your personal phone number.
We ask that all volunteers review our protocol and call script before beginning to ensure they understand our program and the task as clearly as possible.
Time investment: minimum of 1 hour/week

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
