From the comfort of your own home volunteer to make an an Adult Dental Kit to support a family with a sick child.

COVID-19 challenges everyone's daily lives, including the lives of families who have a child with a critical illness. By volunteering you help provide families with the care they need as they try to cope with their child's medical crisis during this pandemic.

Adult Dental Kits.
In an emergency or crisis situation family members often do not have the time to pack the essential items they need to take care of themselves. Adult Dental Kits are especially welcomed by parents who are bedside at the hospital or at a home-away-from home location.

Choose to make 1 Adult Dental Kit or 5, 10 or more. Every week we receive requests from families for these kits.
Note: If you are doing this activity because you require volunteer service hours, they are typically calculated as follows: 1 hour for the first kit and 15-20 minutes for each additional kit.

What about COVID-19?
Please wear gloves and a mask while making the kits(s). Every kit we receive is quarantined before it is delivered to a family.

Include others in your experience!
Invite family members, friends, coworkers, students or faith community members to participate with you, virtually or in socially-distanced small groups.

Mission Statement

The mission of There With Care is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life's day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.

Description

The Bay Area Chapter was created in 2011, seven years after the founding chapter opened in Colorado. There With Care receives referrals from medical social workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Mission Bay, San Francisco. When a family receives a medical diagnosis of critical illness for their child, There With Care connects with the family and engages community members and organizations to volunteer to help ease the stress of their day-to-day life activities.

For information on the experiences of families and children facing critical illness; There With Care's programs and services, and ways to participate and support families, please visit our website: therewithcare.org (Select the "Bay Area" location.
