Cadence Hospice is looking for volunteers who would be interested in sitting with patients when they are actively dying. Vigil volunteers are specially trained to sit with patients as the patient is approaching end-of-life. Vigil volunteers can sit with the patient when family is present for support but also when family are not present. Often times families are comforted knowing a volunteer is with their loved one when they cannot be.
Vigil volunteers are needed when a patient is actively dying. This volunteer opportunity is on-going and volunteers will be notified when there is a patient in need. Essentially, you will be able to offer your availability when the need presents itself. As a vigil volunteer, you can sit with patients any time of the day or night.
Cadence Hospice provide hospice services to patients across Orange County, as far north into LA County as Whittier and La Habra, down to San Clemente and San Bernardino County (i.e Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, and Chino Hills), wherever the patient calls home. Patients may reside in their own home, board and care home or facility.
You will undergo training for this unique and intimate volunteer opportunity. Please respond to this ad for more information on how to join our Vigil Volunteer Program. Thank you in advance for your interest.
