The content writer/editor position requires a strong understanding of literature and grammar. The chosen candidate will be required to do a lot of reading, analyzing, and editing documents, letters, and blogs. This is a fast pace position that requires a large amount of writing and editing.
We encourage the candidate to to have some knowledge of the detention and incarceration system relating to youth of color, as well as systemic racism surrounding this population.

Take Trips MES (Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually) will work tirelessly to ensure that incarcerated and detention youth of color will benefit from adequate aftercare programs and services once they have been released from the system.
Description
TTMES stands for "Take Trips Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually."
As the recidivism rate among youth continues to rise, we must ask ourselves, "how do we deal with negative starts that don't steer us to positive travels?"
When youth of color are released from incarceration or detention centers, they often lack adequate support systems, care, and guidance. TTMES is here to remove the many barriers that prevent positive outcomes. We aim to empower youth of color and provide the tools necessary to heal from the damage of the incarceration system. We are committed to healing the hurt and providing the foundation that they need to succeed.
