Before you even begin thinking about volunteering, ask yourself - Am I well enough to volunteer? Your safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is everyone’s main priority. We encourage you to review and adhere to the recommendations on the Buncombe County readiness site on how best to avoid COVID-19 and what to do if you think you might have it.

Bounty & Soul is a community-based non-profit with a mission to provide access to fresh produce and wellness education to everyone.

Since we can't yet share samples out with the community we're offering up a visual Cooking Demo as part of the drive-thru market experience spotlighting specific produce items we have an abundance and providing inspiration for what folks can create with the bounty. We're hoping to enlist 1-3 volunteers to help set up and share education about the healthy foods featured along with accessible ways to prepare them.

Fridays 3:30-6

  • We are asking volunteers to wear/bring their own face covering when delivering items
    • Cloth covering nose and mouth
    • Fabric or disposable face mask
  • Asking volunteers to maintain physical distance of 6 feet or more when possible
    • Note: there are times when the volunteer task requires volunteers to engage closer than 6 feet. Please do not sign up if you feel uncomfortable.
In order to sign up for this volunteer project, simply 1. click "sign up" above to secure your spot and receive a notification from us with next step instructions from Bounty and Soul. 2. and please don't show up for the volunteer project if you didn't click on the button above Why does this matter? We have to limit the number of people attending each project. This helps everyone stay safe by following COVID-19 specific safety measures. Please understand that if you show up on-site without registering first, you may be turned away so that the agency can maintain safety procedures. Safety is our top priority and we want to be sure needs are met while also being safe.

Mission Statement

Bounty & Soul is a non-profit organization that connects people to food, education and each other. We are creating healthier communities by providing fresh healthy food, nutrition literacy and health & wellness resources for our neighbors in need. We are committed to developing a cooperative model that can be used in communities across the country where food insecurity and malnutrition are present.

Bounty & Soul is a grassroots, volunteer-run non-profit dedicated to creating a health and wellness movement in underserved communities in Buncombe County.

We offer weekly free fresh produce markets paired with interactive health and wellness classes for adults and children including live cooking demonstrations, yoga, Zumba and more! We are dedicated to creating a more just, equitable and thriving food system, healthcare system and community.

Prior to COVID-19 Bounty & Soul operated five weekly free fresh produce markets paired with weekly interactive health and wellness classes for adults and children including live cooking demonstrations, yoga, Zumba and more! In light of the recent public health crisis we've pivoted our model to meet the growing needs of the community to a drive-thru distribution model that operates twice a week. Participants receive pre-packed boxes of food, like a free CSA and still have access to education and resources that are included in the boxes as well as on our website and social media.
