A companion volunteer is someone who simply makes a visit for purposes of providing visitation as a companion. Many hospice patients don't have friends or family within close proximity and their visitors are often too few and far between. This position allows the volunteer to provide visitation at their own convenience while still supporting the patient on a personal level to provide companion support.
