ORGANIZATION: Friends of Rescue Animals

The FRAs Center is the "home-base" for administrative, foster program, and adoption event work. Additionally, the Center has become a Pet Food Pantry and Pet Thrift Store for the community.

Team Member Duties:
-Answering phone, replying to informational emails, creating and keeping foster pet folders up to date.
-Assisting the public with Pet Food Pantry and Pet Thrift Store purchases.
-Everyday TLC like cleaning since cats awaiting placement are sometimes housed at the center.
-Clerical work, like paper filing and thank you notes for donors.

This is a perfect opportunity for teens looking to gain volunteer hours and gain more knowledge about helping in the community with other FRAs related events!

Requirements: Good communication and organization skills, customer service.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in Rowlett and the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

Description

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to include a cat rescue program and support to the Garland Animal Shelter. With over 300 volunteers, we help both the Rowlett and Garland animals shelters maintain a live release rate above 90% to be considered No Kill. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events , sponsor heartworm treatments for all dogs in the shelter that test positive for heartworms, and so much more! FRAs has not only grown in our volunteer size, but we have grown to meet the needs of our community.
