Do you have four hours a week to help your community? We have several food banks that desperately need your help and they are located in South East Tacoma, North End Tacoma and Lakewood. The food banks can barely keep up with the demand for food by those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. The mission is to provide nutritious food and support services to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. The goal is to provide each client with enough nutritious food to make three meals a day for three consecutive days. MUST SHOW PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION

Note: The food banks are allowing only volunteers inside the food banks. Volunteers wear masks and gloves and practice social distancing. They will be helping by sorting and packing food into bags and containers, assist in unloading trucks as needed, etc. Boxes of food are distributed by the Food Bank Manager as the clients drive through the parking lot.

RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) is part of AmeriCorps Seniors, the nation's largest network for volunteers age 55 and over. The growing segment of our older population is vital to strengthening our communities through their interest in helping others. As an RSVP volunteer, you are strengthening the positive impact people 55 and older have in our communities. Our focus is to incorporate meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide purpose and a way to give back to the community.
