We need one or two volunteers to write short articles for the newsletter for Organ Transplant Support. This newsletter is published bi-monthly and sent to 600 people across the country. This newsletter is for organ transplant recipients and their families, and we want to include personal stories of one or more members about their transplant journey in each issue. You can call OTS members and interview them on the phone or by email. This volunteer position is perfect for someone who enjoys writing articles, maybe even writes for clubs or school. A student who is interested in journalism and wants experience in writing for a newsletter would be perfect for this position. If you enjoy writing and sharing stories about organ transplants this position is perfect for you. Organ Transplant Support, Inc. (OTS) is a non profit organization founded by organ transplant recipients in Chicago 28 years ago. The mission of OTS is to provide education, support and resources for organ transplant candidates and recipients and their families. We also promote organ donation awareness at hospitals, conferences and other events throughout Chicago.
Description
Organ Transplant Support provides educational meetings every month with a guest speaker on a topic related to organ transplants. We produce a newsletter 6 times each year that is sent to a mailing list of over 600 people. We also have two special events every year, a ceremony to honor our organ donors in April and a membership celebration in September.
