Literacy Volunteers

Literacy Volunteers is seeking volunteer tutors to assist adults in learning how to read, write, or speak English. As a tutor, you will receive a rewarding experience knowing that you’ve helped someone achieve their goals and be more integrated within our community. Many of our students are refugees and immigrants trying to become integrated members of our community.

Like many organizations and individuals, we had to change our operations due to the pandemic. Technology and virtual instruction now allow us to reach more people in multiple ways. Training and tutoring take place online to keep everyone safe.

We have divided our training into three, 2-hour Zoom sessions, with additional training to be completed independently between sessions. We are using the platform Canvas to post videos and exercises.

If you’re interested in becoming a Literacy Volunteer or learning more visit www.literacyforall.org/tutors.
