FSPP Treasurer assistant helps Treasurer, as needed, with the following:

  • Obtain dues/contribution checks and slips from Database Manager in Arlington, MA deposit and pay bills,
  • Send acknowledgements for the above contributions,
  • Provide interim financial reports for (virtual) FSPP board meetings,
  • Submit Massachusetts Form PC (Public Charity) and Federal form 990 (EZ or N depending) by May 15 of each year for the previous year,
  • Renew and pay fee for PO Box at East Arlington PO before May 31 (currently automatic),
  • MA annual report due in November. Can do online at https://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corp/loginsystem/login_form.asp?FilingMethod=I
  • Submit FSPP annual report for year ending 12/31 for annual meeting in following January and projected budget for current year
  • All the above responsibilities can be accomplished, currently, without direct person to person contact

The Friends of Spy Pond Park is a nonprofit organization which supports the preservation, enhancement, and enjoyment of Spy Pond Park and Spy Pond as natural and community resources.

FSSP supports the
Ongoing protection and beautification of the park
Preservation of open green space and wild life
Prevention and reduction of pond pollution
Use of the park as a community and cultural resource

There are volunteer opportunities on Work Days 1/mo. and Fun Days usually once a year posted on our website. The park is located between Pond Lane and Linwood Street in East Arlington, MA
