ORGANIZATION: Butler SWCD

Help us remove invasive plants, collect milkweed seed pods, and generally appreciate all of the pollinators that have made this habitat home.

This project was designed along the edge of the East Fork of the Mill Creek. There are 2 rain gardens and a 2 acre wetland that were developed to capture runoff from the school parking lot to reduce flooding in the creek.

Where we will meet: The rain gardens are at the lowest end of the school parking lot along the corner of Cox and Barret Roads.

What to bring: Gardening gloves, and gardening tools if you have them (pruners, trowel, spade), and bug spray

We will bring: Water, gloves (they are all kind of large), and some other gardening tools.

Covid rules: We will be outdoors and spaced out. When you arrive, please use the sanitizer provided. Then respect social distancing while we are at the site. We have limited the number of volunteers to 15 to allow more than enough room for effective distancing.

Questions: Call Butler Soil and Water Conservation District at 513-887-3720.

Each month, Butler Soil and Water works with a conservation project somewhere around the county. In September, we will be removing honeysuckle at Bulls Run Arboretum in Middletown, and in October we will be holding the Great Miami River Cleanup in multiple locations.
