Visit hospice patients in private homes or facilities throughout the Twin Cities and greater metro area. Visit times are typically 1 hour but may vary depending on patients’ needs. Patients appreciate the company and enjoy doing any number of things, for example, going outside (during warm weather), playing cards, listening to music and reminiscing. Families appreciate knowing their loved ones are accompanied and not alone. Volunteers act as companions only; they do not provide any physical cares or transfer assistance.

Description
When life expectancy is limited, AccentCare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patients' own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
