The Opportunity: Having a digital marketing plan in place is crucial for entrepreneurs to improve their digital footprint and maximize awareness and conversion. But prioritizing marketing channels and laying out a marketing plan is not an easy task for entrepreneurs who are managing their own businesses and don’t necessarily have the expertise in this area. That’s where you come in! Our virtual digital marketing strategy project is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to volunteer your time and talent to support small businesses and the innovators behind them.

  • Are you a good fit? You have at least 3 years of professional experience in marketing and are located in the United States (or in a country with overlapping time zones).
  • What will you be doing? Once approved as a volunteer, you will have access to our list of opportunities. You will then connect one-on-one with an entrepreneur to scope out the project and deliverables, and ultimately assist them in creating or improving their digital marketing plan.
  • What is the time commitment? These projects typically last between 30 and 45 days, depending on your availability. This includes some preparation and design time (flexible to your schedule) and interactions with the entrepreneur (via email, phone or video conferencing). This is a limited-scope opportunity with a clear deliverable and end date.
  • Does Start Small Think Big provide resources to get started? We provide general information about the entrepreneur and their business, and a guide that can be used as a template for gathering information and delivering the final digital marketing plan.

Description

We focus on partnering with BIPOC entrepreneurs, women, LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs, immigrants, veterans, entrepreneurs with disabilities, low-income entrepreneurs, and formerly incarcerated entrepreneurs. We help identify entrepreneurs’ areas of need and provide them with free technical assistance across the finance, marketing and legal areas. We do this by connecting them with our community of corporate partners and skills-based volunteers - so small businesses have the network and resources they need to grow on their own terms.
