Volunteers are at the heart of our hospice team. We depend on our volunteers to help us provide the extra companionship and support our clients and their families need at this time in their life.

Volunteers are trained to offer support & companionship, and help to enrich the daily lives of people in their community. Whether it's running an errand, or providing companionship to a client by reading, listening to music or doing a puzzle with them.

By providing this support it will not only enrich the daily lives of our clients but it will also allow the family care taker a moment to practice self-care.

During this time of Covid-19 travel has limited the ability of family members to travel and support one another. We hope to help fill this limitation by supplying volunteers to enrich the daily lives of clients and families in their community.

~Most training can be done remotely

Description

Heartland Hospice is an organization made up of a dedicated team of Nurses, Home Health Aides, Spiritual Coordinators, Social Workers, Bereavement support, Medical Directors, office staff, and volunteers that desire to give a full circle of care to patients with advanced stage illnesses.

Volunteers are the most important component in helping the staff give a full circle of care to our clients. They can visit clients in their home or facility, give caregiver relief, make crafts and gifts items for the clients, office support, and much more...

Without volunteers our clients would lack in receiving the love and care they need during their most difficult journey.
