Science from Scientists

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 19 people are interested

At Science from Scientists, our mission is to teach and inspire the next generation to identify and solve real-world problems by improving STEM literacy. We usually do this by bringing charismatic scientists into a classroom with a set of materials to teach hands-on science lessons to students. Students typically work in teams and share these materials. With the pandemic, we have to change how we operate but keep our mission the same.

This upcoming academic year, complying with the expected Covid material sharing safety guidelines, we have begun a new adventure of building out individual student activity kits for every student, for every lesson. Overall, we’re expected to build over 140K over the course of the school year!

I’m reaching out because we need your help with building out our student kits. I understand these are very odd times for all, and getting together in groups for volunteer events has its own challenges. We’re working through a process to make sure everyone remains safe through this process as we continue on our mission. There could be opportunities for groups to volunteer at our office, outside somewhere, or even virtually for individuals at home while having a fun Zoom call. We can certainly be creative in how this comes together, and could use all the help we could get.

We are looking for volunteers to help build kits for the upcoming school in September/October. Send us a message if you are interested in helping out! **This opportunity is done at home, however, the person would have to be able to pick up materials from our Bedford office in Massachusetts.**
