Encourage donors to use RapidPass (our mobile phone registration app)
Educate donors on best donation type for their blood type
Build relationships and recruit new volunteers
Ensures volunteers are familiar with donor qualifications and complications
Why does the American Red Cross need RN of Record volunteers? California regulations require that any time blood is drawn under a license - it must be under the supervision of a physician or a registered nurse trained in the procedure. Without an RN of Record volunteer - life-saving blood wouldn’t make it to our Pomona donation center where it is processed and delivered to hospitals all over California.
Qualifications:
RN license must be active in the state of California.
A warm, friendly and gracious manner with a desire to help others.
Good communication skills to give verbal instructions clearly, politely and accurately to donors.
Customer service experience preferred with a commitment to putting donor first at all times.
Demonstrated dependability and punctuality
2 blood drives or more per month
Training: Required training sessions broken down to 2-day virtual orientation (2 hours) and then 3-days of in-person self-paced online training (8 hours each day) held at Pomona Blood Center Headquarters (total of 5 training days)
Note: Cannot split up the training, miss a training day, come in late or leave early from training
