Pets are often the only thing an unhoused individual has to care about, and many shelters don’t allow pets. Working with shelters to make them pet-friendly also allows us to work with these individuals who are often the most in need and often have a higher potential to build a better future...two lives at a time. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate with our bookkeeper; ensure that receipts, donations, and financials are being documented properly; create a structure around a nonprofit’s charitable contributions or earned income. Volunteers will have the following responsibilities: Work with bookkeeper to review and evaluate financial statements Prepare tax returns and other paperwork needed for the organization Requirements: Accounting or bookkeeping background, ideally nonprofit accounting. Experience in the nonprofit world is ideal Volunteers can work remotely. The time commitment is flexible, ranging from 5-10 hours a month.
