Organization: Hollywood Food Coalition Website: www.hofoco.org Mission: The mission of Hollywood Food Coalition is to feed and serve the immediate needs of the hungry every night of the year so they can build better lives. Our vision is a city where everyone has food, community, and support. For 33 years, we have served a hot, nutritious dinner every night of the year to homeless and food insecure individuals. All our food is donated, and we share thousands of pounds of excess food with partner social service organizations all across the city. As an essential service, we have remained open during the COVID-19 crisis and will continue to serve those who struggle to access food for years to come. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: We are looking for someone with public relations skills and contacts to help us tell the full story of Hollywood Food Coalition through various media outlets to reach potential donors and volunteers. We really want someone who knows how to find new opportunities to tell our story through the media. This work could all be done virtually. Requirements: Public relations experience and contacts in media. Submission of resume and samples of past media coverage required. This volunteer opportunity is offered and managed by L.A. Works RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) Pro Bono whose mission is to utilize the professional experience of adults age 55+ to help fulfill the missions of nonprofit organizations.
