Take Trips MES, is seeking a mature, flexible candidate to work alongside a great team as a web designer.

This is an unpaid intern position that could possibly lead to a permanent position with our young New York based nonprofit organization. The chosen candidate will be required to demonstrate their creative skills on the business website, as well as create designs for the business Facebook page.

We ask that anyone applying be somewhat socially conscious to the struggles of incarcerated and detention youth of color to properly create designs that will speak to our donors and corporate collaborators.

Mission Statement

Take Trips MES (Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually) will work tirelessly to ensure that incarcerated and detention youth of color will benefit from adequate aftercare programs and services once they have been released from the system.

Description

TTMES stands for "Take Trips Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually."

As the recidivism rate among youth continues to rise, we must ask ourselves, "how do we deal with negative starts that don't steer us to positive travels?"

When youth of color are released from incarceration or detention centers, they often lack adequate support systems, care, and guidance. TTMES is here to remove the many barriers that prevent positive outcomes. We aim to empower youth of color and provide the tools necessary to heal from the damage of the incarceration system. We are committed to healing the hurt and providing the foundation that they need to succeed.
