Saving Grace provides comprehensive intimate partner violence and sexual assault services and promotes the value of living free from violence. Their services include operating a 24-bed emergency shelter for women and children, running a 24-hour domestic violence Hotline, providing advocacy services for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, organizing support groups, hospital accompaniment, and community outreach and awareness.

The Advocate position at Saving Grace includes empowering adults, teens, and children through education and support. Tasks include: intake and needs assessment; peer counseling; education and support with legal and court issues; system advocacy for mental and physical health; system advocacy to meet needs-food and shelter; supporting Mary’s Place mom’s nights; co-facilitating a domestic violence children’s support group and other related tasks with which the staff may need assistance. This position also allows the NDA volunteer to implement an educational program, such as art groups, individual computer lessons, or raising awareness in the community with materials and outreach. The member may also participate in administrative tasks as needed.

Saving Grace is hosting two AmeriCorps members who will have individual roles, as well as opportunities to work together. This position will appeal to those interested in learning more about social work, especially related to social justice. Saving Grace offers flexible work hours, continuous ongoing education, a supportive environment with a focus on self-care, and a progressive work ethic.
