We are seeking Front Desk Greeters to help welcome volunteers, guests, donors, visitors, and more into our Brooklyn Park headquarters!
Anyone entering our building must come through the main entrance, so it is a highly trafficked area. This person sits at the front desk and provides a friendly greeting to everyone who walks through the door. They may also help receive food donations or contact a team member if a financial donation is given.
In between greeting guests, this person can assist in scanning documents using the printer/scanner located at the front desk or be trained in other administrative tasks. This is a critical role to serve as the face of our organization while providing important administrative support!
This position is great for volunteers who want a set schedule!
Duties:
- Greet volunteers, visitors and guests who enter the building
- Occasionally assist with receiving food donations
- Occasionally assist with receiving financial donations by notifying the appropriate team member
- Occasionally receive mail or packages from mail carrier
- Scan paperwork to designated departments or other administrative projects if time allows.
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Comfortable sitting for 1-2 hours at a time
- Ability to use computer (basic level of computer navigation), telephone and printer/scanner
- Arrives on time, and gives advance notice when unavailable
- Demonstrated experience working with the public or in a customer service role
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task as project needs may change week to week
- A background check is required for this volunteer opportunity

Working with our network of partners, volunteers and donors as well as people like you, our 90,000+ square feet of dry, refrigerator and freezer space is constantly accepting and distributing donations. Our fleet of trucks travels nearly half a million miles a year, picking up food donations and delivering them to local food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children's after school programs.
