COVID-19 Help: Food Box Distribution Drive-Thru/Walk-Thru
The Salvation Army - San Jose, CA
Drive-Thru Volunteers will load food boxes, frozen meat into trunks of cars. Clients remain in cars.
Walk-Thru Volunteers place food boxes on table and Clients pack them into their carts or walkers. Volunteers can opt to help pack cart or walker if Client is struggling (mainly Seniors).
Age Requirements: 16 or older
3-4 Volunteers needed per weekday
Mondays & Wednesdays, hours 8am-12noon to pack dairy into plastic bags and food box distribution.
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, hours 8:30am-12:30pm for food box distribution.
Social Distancing, wearing of face masks, gloves and all guidelines associated with COVID-19 will be followed in both drive-thru and walk-up area.
The Food Box Distribution Drive-Thru and Walk-Thru is in compliance to social distancing while continuing to provide food to Seniors, Homeless and Families during COVID-19. Assistance in this program has more than doubled as more people face job loss and reduced working hours.
