ORGANIZATION: Community Emergency Service

In 2024, 1 in 5 households in Minnesota struggled to get enough food. You can make a difference by helping us pack bags and stock shelves to increase food access for our Minneapolis neighbors-no cooking required! This weekday morning role takes place behind the scenes, ensuring food is ready for distribution to those who need it.

We have two weekday shifts:

M-F - 8:30-10am - Meals on wheels Prep

  • Quick and very easy.
  • Follow the packing slips to pack the bags with the right number of frozen meals or snack items that will be delivered that day.

Requirement - Ability to read the instruction sheet and follow details.

M - W - 10am-12pm - Food Market Prep

  • Low key and easy.
  • Stock shelves, sort donations, prepare our market for neighbors to come shop!

Requirement - Ability to be on your feet for the majority of the shift.

About Community Emergency Service

Location:

1900 11th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55404, US

Mission Statement

Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

Description

Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.

CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.

At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.

Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
