for Ocean (AFO), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, seeks someone with experience in educational policy, educational instruction, or in any of the following fields: Earth and Oceanographic Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or Biochemistry. The AFO’s mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our educational programming, specifically in our classroom programs.

Job Description

The temporary AFO Education Fellow​ will work closely with the education director and educational committee to research and develop an after school program targeted at k-5 students.

Deliverables due no later than August 31st:

  1. A three (3) week long educational after school program that includes
  2. Interactive activities with instructional guide b. Brief lecture/introduction materials for the instructor c. A required materials list for each day d. A rationale for how it aligns with Common Core and/or Next Generation Science Standards

Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans and our role in protecting this planet.

Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons!
