ORGANIZATION: Amherst H. Wilder Foundation

Description: We are preparing to more families at our Child Development Center than ever before starting in June. We are anticipating long lines as we practice social distancing to keep our families and staff safe. To keep our kids (ages 18 months to Kindergarten age) engaged and having fun while in line, we are seeking talented volunteers to share their artistic or performance talents to keep kids entertained and make this a good experience for kids, parents and staff. Volunteers will be stationed outside with helping to implement fun games with staff as well as share their talents. Social distancing protocols will be required.

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age or age 14+ with an adult present

Provide entertainment such as: clowning, dance, juggle, magic, music, puppetry, sing, story-telling, face-painting, comic-book/costumed character appearance, DJ dance party, yoga/exercise/dance for kids, arts & crafts, show-n-tell, etc. Let us know your special talent! Staff also have activities for you to share.

Abilities & Skills: In order to be successful in this position, the volunteer will at minimum need to possess the following abilities and skills:

  • Ability to engage young children in the entertainment
  • Bring your own supplies and equipment Must be comfortable interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, education, economic status, and culture
  • Ability to turn in timesheet to the Volunteer Specialist

Commitment: We would love to see volunteers share their talents at least once a week between June-August.

Shifts: 8:30- 11:30 pm , 12:00-3:00 pm 3:00-6:00 pm
