Regional Representatives

JOB SUMMARY

Regional Representatives act as a central point of contact for supporters in their region; engaging with existing, new, and potential supporters to advocate for kindness in their communities. They promote ways to spread kindness, by making connections locally and through social media, helping facilitate and carry out acts of kindness, and by demonstrating kindness through their actions and activities. They report to the Regional Representative Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent Random Acts in their local communities to raise awareness of the organization and to connect with existing, new, and potential supporters.
  • Motivate and inspire individuals/groups to participate in acts of kindness, and to apply for funding from Random Acts.
  • Regularly engage people via social media by highlighting ways to spread kindness.
  • Carry out kindness acts on a regular basis, using the provided annual budget.
  • Collate and share experiences of acts performed.
  • Take part in, and promote, Random Acts programs (such as Spark, Kindness Heroes, and #GetKind).
  • Share with the Regional Reps team, and wider Random Acts staff, local knowledge that helps us improve our reach.
  • Engage with the Reps team, and wider staff, in regular virtual meetings and offer support to other Reps.
  • Contribute to the development of the department by taking part in improvement work and learning sessions.
  • Other projects or duties as requested by the Regional Representative Manager or Assistant Manager.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Position Requirements

  • Strongly self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently on open-ended projects
  • Skilled communicator, with experience in reaching out to individuals and organizations.
  • Willing to serve as a role model for kindness through consistent actions and messages
  • Able to identify and highlight areas of need for kindness acts in their region
  • Willing to engage local communities and individuals, including those with different lived experiences from yourself.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to the aims and objectives of Random Acts
  • Familiar with using social media
  • Able to work with volunteers and act participants
  • Able to work under the policies and procedures of Random Acts
  • Able to act as a point of contact for individuals/groups
  • Able to encourage people to perform acts of kindness
  • Regular access to the internet
  • Time to dedicate to the role (approx. 2 hrs per week)
  • The ability to speak predominant regional languages, in addition to English, is a plus for Regional Representatives
