Encompass Health is looking for a bereavement volunteer to provide socialization and companionship to bereaved family members, emotional or spiritual support, make phone calls, review reports, assist with bereavement mailings, guide and facilitate support groups. Bereavement volunteers provide non-medical services to the families and loved ones of patients who died on hospice service. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.

Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.
