Are you a military veteran and looking to volunteer in hospice? You've come to the right place! Many of our patients have served in the armed forces so we are always looking to bring veterans on board the Enhabit Hospice Volunteer Team. We are looking for military veterans to volunteer in Direct Patient Volunteering which can include the following: -Visiting with patients and exchanging life stories -Reading to patients -Working puzzles -Watching tv/movies -Listening to music Direct Patient Volunteering can take place in Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes but may also include Caregiver Relief where you will stay and visit with the patient in their home while the caregiver runs errands, takes time for themselves or goes to appointments. Enhabit Hospice, formerly known as Encompass Health - Hospice, is looking for veterans to provide emotional and companionship support to patients at the end-of-life who have served in the armed forces. Veteran volunteers will provide direct patient care companionship, socialization, emotional support and other appropriately related activities and tasks. Veteran volunteers provide non-medical support and services to patients and respite opportunities for caregivers and family members.
