Jersey Cares will be continuing the collection of fabric masks to assist our non-profit partners as well as the distribution of masks to schools during COVID-19.
Sewing experience is not necessary but making the masks with a sewing machine is required, so that they can be washed and withstand the need to reuse, if necessary. We are asking all volunteers to complete a minimum of 25 masks.
If you can help, please respond to this need. Once you register below, we will send you a Mask Makers toolkit that includes: face mask patterns, a list of acceptable materials, and where materials can be purchased online.
To help us care for one another, we recommend volunteers follow these guidelines:
* Please do not register as a Sewer for the Mask Makers project if you are sick or someone in your household is sick.
* Please wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

Description
Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful. We provide flexible, structured, team-based opportunities for volunteers to impact a variety of nonprofit organizations and bring positive change to local communities. Jersey Cares works directly with local organizations to identify their needs, and trains volunteer leaders to manage projects that address those needs. Most projects are ongoing, and volunteers (other than the Project Coordinators) commit to only one day at a time. All of this enables you to volunteer whenever and however fits your interests and schedule, and yet always make a real difference. Simply choose "Volunteer" from the left menu to get started on your volunteering adventure!
