We have an app that we just launched into beta that allows neighbors to share needs with each other, such as sharing grocery store runs and dropping off items for each other.

In particular, our hope is that younger members of a neighborhood might be able to do the shopping for older or vulnerable members, who should not go out but maybe don't feel able or comfortable to pay for grocery delivery when they run out of something. Other resource and safe activity sharing such as outdoor walking can be arranged as well. At least, being invited to express their needs in a safe group may help people feel less alone.

The original purpose of the app was to bring neighbors together thru meal sharing, but with #COVID19 we are repurposing it for checking on each other and filling needs with social distancing.

We could especially use a UI designer, to help improve the look/feel/flow of the app, and also React or Python coders; and we also could use help with the static website. We have an existing framework and deployment (react over django) and we are trying to improve the usability and flow to onboard neighborhoods and groups. Its a great way to jump into a coding team and learn from each other!

(this is technically under our sister Benefit corp, not the nonprofit, and coders will receive warrants for equity in the benefit corporation)
