Food Pantry Volunteers needed (El Cajon)

ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

We are seeking volunteers to help us sort and distribute food to people in need in our community.

Requirements:

  1. Sort and pack canned goods and non-perishable items in the food pantry.
  2. Assist in distributing food boxes or bags.
  3. Disassemble boxes and discard in recycle bin. Discard expired food.
  4. Assist in cleaning up and stocking pantry for next service day.

Qualifications:

  1. Able to work with public, have a heart for working with homeless and low-income individuals.
  2. Must be able to lift and carry a 20 pound food bag for distribution.
  3. Ability to stand for most of the shift.


Please note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old. We are not accepting court ordered volunteers for this location. Complying with the county and in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we encourage all individuals who may be immunocompromised or in an at risk age category to not volunteer at this time. This includes those caring for individuals in these categories.


Shifts:
Monday: 9am to noon and/or 12:45-4:30
Tuesday: 9am to noon
Thursday: 9am to noon
Friday: 10am to noon/ 12:45-4:30/ 4-6:30
