Volunteer drivers needed to fill in as temporary drivers while our 65+ aged volunteers stay home during the COVID-19 outbreak. We need volunteer drivers to drive designated routes for food pick-up and/or deliveries.
We are looking for five volunteer truck driver volunteers to drive a box sized U-Haul panel truck on designated routes for food pick-up and/or deliveries.
Experience driving a box sized U-Haul moving truck or larger required.
Drivers pick-up truck at Food Share warehouse and along with a helper, begin route at 7AM returning back to Food Share warehouse at 10AM.
Pre-approval and training required prior to starting your driving route. You would go on a ride-a-long with current driver for training.
Volunteer should be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift boxes of product, up to 50 lbs. or ask your partner to help you lift anything you feel is too heavy to lift alone.
Volunteer driver must be a minimum age of 21 and under the age of 75.
Must have valid Class C driver’s license and good driving record. Must have satisfactory DMV driving record with no accidents or moving violations within the last three years. Must be deemed insurable by the Food Share insurance company.
