Meals on Wheels: Burien - Deliver Meals and a Smile!
Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
A Volunteer Driver is needed to deliver weekly meals in Burien, Wednesday mornings. Drivers pick up meals between 10:30 am - 11 am, and are typically done with their route in 1-1.5 hours. Training is provided and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries.
A Volunteer Backup Driver is needed to deliver meals in Burien on Wednesday mornings, as needed. The backup driver would fill in when the weekly driver is unavailable. Drivers pick up meals between 10:30 am - 11 am, and are typically done with their route in 1-1.5 hours. Training is provided and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries.
Qualifications: Commitment to the well-being of elders, good communication and people skills, reliability, and good cheer. This is an on-going volunteer commitment and we are looking for someone available long-term.
Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of a ige, and have a Washington state driver's license and auto insurance.
