We are looking for photographers to shoot our writing programs, which take place at multiple locations in San Francisco, mostly the Mission, Tenderloin, Mission Bay, and Potrero Hill.
We need images of our tutors and students working together on writing assignments. The images are used on social media, in fundraising campaigns, and in volunteer recruitment. They are super crucial for showing San Francisco what we do.
Shifts are very flexible. Most shifts are an hour long anytime Monday-Friday 11am-6pm.
In addition to program photography, we also need event photographers. Those are longer shifts, sometimes up to 4 or 5 hours, usually in the evening. Our events are celebrations of our students, their work and their insight.
We also have a need for portrait photos of our students about three times per year. We photograph students for our Young Writers Wall and also photograph our scholarship winners once a year. Both those assignments take place at our Mission center.
Please get in touch if you have any questions! Thanks so much.

Mission Statement
826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
Description
826 Valencia comprises three writing centers-our flagship location in the Mission District, a center in the Tenderloin neighborhood, and a new center on the ground floor of an affordable housing building in Mission Bay -and three satellite classrooms at nearby public schools. All of our programs are offered free of charge to make them accessible to the students who would not otherwise be able to access our support.
Our goals are:
1) Transform students’ relationships to writing, building their confidence and pride.
2) Provide individualized attention and support, so students can make great leaps in learning.
3) Partner with under-resourced schools and communities, providing our free services to those who would not otherwise have access.
4) Cultivate wonder, inspiring imagination and creativity in all of our spaces and programs.
