40% of all food goes to waste, and 1 in 3 people in San Diego County is food insecure. Join as a volunteer and pick fruit in Escondido for San Diego's food insecure. Together, we will help address the problem of hunger and waste in one sweet step.

Enjoy a weekday fragrant morning of your choosing gleaning fruit trees at various residential North County homes with 1-6 fruit trees. This seasonal volunteer position picks fruit December through the end of July. Volunteers pick 200 pounds of fruit- often much more! After you Quick Pick, you will deliver the nutritious produce to one of our receiving agencies in Escondido for distribution to their food pantries. Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes as well as bring a water bottle, and will be provided with necessary equipment and orientation at pick location.
