Want to be part of a dynamic team helping support the needs of seniors here in Henderson County - all while having a blast? Join our Sammy Williams Center volunteer team !The Sammy is a place for seniors that are a little more active, 60+, and able to drive, walk or take Apple County Transportation. They participate in exercise classes, crafts, weekly BINGO, performances, music, etc. Come be a part of investing in these amazing people, by helping serve lunch or assist our site director with various tasks. You won't regret it! Lunch at the Sammy is always an adventure --- this opportunity is suitable for folks with varying skills, strengths, schedules and needs.
The Sammy operates *Monday - Friday (9:30- 1.30 )

Description
For over 50 years the Council on Aging for Henderson County has been engaging with older adults in this community to ensure independence and support as we age. What started as a grass roots efforts from a group of concerned citizens has blossomed into a full steam operating agency offering programs such as Liquid Nutrition, Lunch @ the Sammy Center, Resource Coordination, Caregiver & Respite Care Coordination, Meals on Wheels & two local thrift stores. Our Meals on Wheels program currently serves +- 400 homebound seniors, with an ever growing need and waiting list to tackle.
