Be an integral part of our friendly food pantry volunteer team! Check clients in to our database in order to keep track of their visits. Assist with any paperwork issues that may arise (e.g., card expirations, income requirements, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess flexibility, patience, and good listening skills
- Be comfortable working on a computer and learning a new, intuitive database system
- Be able to get up and down from a seated to standing position frequently throughout the shift
- Provide a dignified, kind, and compassionate experience for clients at check-in
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and potentially emotionally charged atmosphere
- Desire to work with diverse populations
- Understand and set appropriate boundaries when working with clients
- Work well with other volunteers; occasionally help in other areas of pantry if needed
- Potential occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
