About SOUTH SHORE COMMUNITY ACTION COUNCIL INC
Location:

Mission Statement
Our mission is to eliminate poverty along the South Shore in partnership with individuals, organizations, and businesses that want to make a powerful impact on the lives of their less fortunate neighbors. Typically, our partners are worried about children going to bed hungry and falling behind their peers, concerned about their elderly neighbors who have to choose between heat and prescriptions, or are frustrated for working families that can't earn a living wage to afford the high cost of living on the South Shore. If you share these concerns, then we want to partner with you and help you find a way to get involved!
Description
Each year, SSCAC improves the quality of life for over 27,000 people of all ages living on the South Shore, Cape Cod, and the Islands. Founded in 1965, work together with our community partners to:
- help to fight hunger among children and seniors,
- keep low income elderly and families warm in winter,
- stimulate, educate, and care for our most vulnerable infants, toddlers, and preschoolers,
- safely and respectfully transport people who are elderly or disabled
