Memory Loss Caregiver Support Group Facilitator
ORGANIZATION: Lyngblomsten Care Center
Please visit the new page to apply.
As a facilitator for one of our Memory Loss Caregivers Support Groups, you'll be a source of encouragement and inspiration for caregivers. You'll receive training through the Alzheimer's Association and help participants develop problem-solving skills and learn more about dementia. Our support groups are open to those caring for someone with Alzheimer's or a related dementia.
Activities will include:
- Creating a safe, confidential and supportive environment
- Arranging for speakers/presenters for the group as needed
- Encouraging participants to provide assistance and emotional support to one another
This activity would be a great fit for someone who:
- Is experienced with dementia as a family member or health care professional (preferred but not required)
- Can be empathetic and separate personal needs from group needs
- Has strong listening skills and communication skills
Time Commitment:
Caregiver support groups meet monthly at locations in West St Paul, Roseville, White Bear Lake and Woodbury. Typical volunteer time would be on a Tuesday or Thursday from approximately 9:45am-11:45am.
