Lyngblomsten Ice Cream Social -- Thursday, August 3rd from 3-7pm We are looking for volunteers to help us with our outdoor Ice Cream Social on August 3rd! There are a variety of opportunities available (groups welcome), including setup, food and accompanying residents who use wheelchairs: Setup -- 12:30-2:30pm (up to 20 volunteers): Set up table and chair, food serving and seating areas. Small pop up tent setup. Food -- 2:15-5pm or 4:45-7:15pm (up to 7 volunteers per shift): Grill and serve hot dogs as well as beverages and snacks. First shift will prep food and last shift will clean up. Transport -- 2:30-5pm or 4:45-7:15pm (up to 12 volunteers per shift): Help residents get outside to join the fun. Enjoy the entertainers and petting zoo with them. This is a fun event for volunteer groups. To get involved, reach out today for more details!

Do you have a few hours a week to spare? Would you like to make a difference in the lives of seniors? Anna's Cafe and Gift Shop volunteers give Lyngblomsten residents the independence of shopping for a loved one, grabbing a snack with a friend, or rewarding themselves with a little treat. Let your personality shine when you volunteer at Anna's, creating a welcoming environment that is dignified and worthy of a person who has lived to be, on average, 87 years of age. Anna's Cafe and Gift shop hours are from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on weekdays. Shifts are typically 4 hours in length, but we are happy to be flexible with shift times. We will help you learn more about Lyngblomsten's volunteer program and complete a DHS background screen. Would you like to make a difference in the lives of people with memory loss and their caregivers? The Gathering, a Lyngblomsten group respite program, is looking for volunteers. The Gathering provides caregivers a few hours' break while volunteers like you enjoy time with participants who have early memory loss. Caregivers bring their loved one (participant) to one of two locations, St. Paul (Como Neighborhood) or White Bear Lake. Volunteers help participants take part in staff-led, brain-stimulating activities that are fun for everyone. You might work on word puzzles, participate in gentle movement, enjoy some music, complete a craft project, and finish up the day with a story. Training is provided. This is an incredibly rewarding volunteer role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of others. Join us as a Respite Assistant (ratio 2 participants to 1 volunteer). The Gathering is a four-hour program held twice a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) at our Como Park location and once a week (Thursdays) at our White Bear Lake location. Sophia's Gift Shop Attendant Sophia's Gift Shop is looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to assist in the day-to-day operation of the shop. You’ll provide gift sales assistance to customers, work the cash register, and keep the dining area neat and clean. Training is provided. Qualifications Basic math skills and ability to make correct change Youth volunteers must be at least 16 years of age Volunteers must be fully ambulatory and able to stand, unassisted for more than one hour Time Commitment Sophia's is open from 9am-4:30pm. Shifts are four hours in length. Volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering at least once each week. Volunteering at Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes offer these benefits: After six volunteer shifts you will be invited to join in a four-hour Lino Lakes amenity (pool, game room, pickle ball court, etc.) time every other week.
