Are you and your therapy animal certified pet therapists/ animal-assisted therapists? Cadence Hospice, located in Orange, Ca., is looking for certified pet therapists who are willing to volunteer their time to hospice patients. Cadence Hospice provide hospice services to patients across Orange County, as far north into LA County as Whittier and La Habra, down to San Clemente and San Bernardino County (i.e Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, and Chino Hills), wherever the patient calls home. Patients may reside in their own home, board and care home or facility. A visit from a therapy dog or animal can be so beneficial for patients in their end-of-life journey. Terminally ill patients will enjoy the extra attention and unconditional love they feel from having a four-legged visitor. As you can imagine, a patient may be an animal lover but may not be able to have one at this point in their lives. A visit from a certified therapy animal would give them so much comfort and joy.
Animal-assisted interventions can benefit the community we serve in many ways!
Hours are very flexible- weekdays, evenings or weekends are available. Any time that you have available can benefit the lives of those who need it most during this difficult time in their lives. The Traditions Health hospice team provides support and guidance to patients and their families to address each of these needs throughout their end of life journey. We walk with the patient and their loved ones each step of the way, providing the education and care they need to have the best quality of life possible.
Our team is passionate about building relationships with our patients and their loved ones so that we know what matters most to them. Whether the need is physical, spiritual or emotional, our compassionate hospice experts are available to provide the necessary support. Comfort and dignity are the anchors of hospice care. Our clinicians are highly skilled at recognizing and managing symptoms early, in most cases allowing the patient to remain comfortable at home throughout the end of their life.
